Family Centered Treatment® (FCT) is an evidence‑based, trauma‑informed model of intensive, home‑based family therapy designed to keep families safely together and support reunification.
What FCT Is:
FCT focuses on changing emotional tone and interaction patterns in the family system, drawing from Eco‑Structural Family Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Treatment progresses through four phases—Joining & Assessment, Restructuring, Valuing Change, and Generalization - guided by practitioners and transitional indicators (rather than fixed timelines). Who FCT Helps in Nebraska:
We serve families experiencing safety threats, high-risk factors, or children at risk of out-of-home placement; youth who are transitioning home from higher levels of care; and families pursuing reunification.
FCT in Nebraska is always voluntary and cannot be court-ordered, according to Nebraska DHHS guidance (Sept 2024). While we support families who may be court- or probation-involved, service delivery is based on the family’s consent. Referrals come from DHHS Children & Family Services; but families can also contact us directly, and we’ll explain how to get started.
