Parenting Time/Supervised Visitation is a service that helps parents maintain strong, healthy connections with their children in a safe and supportive environment. Visits are designed to be long enough to nurture parent-child attachment while ensuring the child’s safety and well-being.
Our specialists are there to supervise and guide, offering encouragement, and modeling positive parenting practices during visits. Whenever possible, visits happen in the family home or in the community that respects your family’s needs and traditions.

-

Yes, Paradigm strives to keep the same worker for consistency whenever possible.
-
What if I need to cancel a visit?
What if I need to cancel a visit?
We understand plans change. Please contact your Family Support Specialist at least 24 hours prior to the visit, if possible, so it can be rescheduled based on the worker’s availability. If this is not possible, then contact your worker as soon as you know you will not be available so the worker doesn’t travel to your session. If you cancel, the visit does not have to be made up (though it can be if possible). If the worker cancels, the visit will be rescheduled within a week. -
What happens if there’s a safety concern?
Visits may only be canceled for imminent safety concerns that cannot be mitigated by the worker. Paradigm will notify DHHS immediately of all safety concerns.
-
Can visits be virtual?
Yes, but only with DHHS approval and a separate authorization for virtual services.
-
How is my privacy protected?
All services follow state and federal confidentiality laws. Information is shared only with DHHS and authorized parties.
-
Will I receive feedback on my parenting skills?
Yes, workers provide coaching, mentoring, and modeling; as well as feedback during visits to help strengthen parenting skills.
-
How do I share concerns or feedback?
You can share feedback during visits, through surveys, or by contacting Paradigm directly.

Monthly reports (sent by the 10th of each month) detailing attendance, progress toward goals, barriers, safety assessments, and recommendations. If you need additional documentation, please contact our office.
-
How are missed visits handled?
If the client cancels, it is not the expectation that the visit will be made up unless our worker has availability. However, if the worker cancels for any reason, it is the expectation that the visit will be made up with the family. No-shows and cancellations are reported to DHHS by the next business day. Service preps are requested for missed visits when the worker has traveled to the visit.
-
Are treatment plans required?
No formal treatment plan is generated, rather visits follow DHHS referral goals.
-
What safety protocols are in place?
Immediate reporting of safety concerns to DHHS and CPS hotline. Critical incidents reported within 24 hours.
-
Will your agency transport during sessions?
We may transport parents and/or children during a session based on activities. For example, going from a parent’s home to the park or library in the community. However, any time spent in the car is considered travel time and not direct care so this expectation to transport during a session should be minimal.
-
Can Family Support and Parenting Time happen at the same time?
No, we are only allowed to provide and bill for one service at a time.
-
Will your workers attend Family Team Meetings (FTM) or court?
Yes, they are able to attend an FTM permitting their schedule allows. They are not required to attend court unless specifically subpoenaed.
